Journey Back to Soul - Week 2

It's week 2! And this week we are going to talk about all the different kinds of LOVE! The purpose of this soul journey is to help you reconnect to the kinds of love that heal you and light you up and to show you how to gently release and detach from unhealthy or toxic kinds of love.

So if you're ready, get your notebook and pen and follow the prompts below.

By the end of this week you are going to have a deeper understanding of what the healthiest forms of love are for you. You've heard of the 5 love languages? Well this is a deeper more personalized and soul-based understanding of how the best kind of love feels for you.

Step 1 -

Sometimes to understand something better, it helps to understand what it is not! So the first thing I want you to do is write down a few thoughts about what unhealthy love looks like and how it makes you feel? What have you tried to love that has hurt you? What are some experiences you've had or things people have done that didn't feel like love? What does toxic love look like or feel like to you?

Write down some of your thoughts, take a few deep breaths, and be proud of yourself for surviving any of those harsh or toxic experiences and thank you for still wanting and trying to be a good person regardless of other peoples destructive behaviors or shortcomings. That says alot about your strength and your heart. Jot down your thoughts and when you're ready, go to the next step.

Step 2 -

I want to do a visual exercise with you using the information you just wrote down. I want you to picture a clean glass cup or goblet. This is your cup of love. Now I want you to picture your cup of love covered and filled with all the things that you have been trying to love that have been hurting you or aren't good for you. Can you see it? Now I want you to picture a beautiful healing waterfall. And this waterfall has the ability to wash off anything that has hurt you and make your cup pure and clean and beautiful again. I want you to picture yourself washing off your cup in this beautiful waterfall and its washing off all those painful hurtful feelings of toxic unhealthy love. After you're done washing off your cup of love, it is sparkling and perfectly clean and its ready to be filled with things that actually feel like good healing love - that kind of love that makes you feel happier, stronger, kinder, all the good things that good love can nurture us to be.

I want you to make a promise to yourself, that you get to fill up your cup of love with things that actually feel like good love for you. When something doesn't feel like good love, just acknowledge that doesn't feel like love for you. And ask yourself this questions "What would feel like love for me in this situation?" Having the right question to ask is a huge catapult to solving problems and finding solutions that serve you best. This will also help fuel your soul and relieve emotional and physical exhaustion. Healthy Good Love is like food and nourishment for our bodies and souls and it can help us get our health back - mentally, physically, and emotionally.

Step 3 -

So let's start by reconnecting to things you know you love!! Make a list of some of your most favorite things. Here's a list of ideas to help. Write down as many as you can and then there is one last step in this journey.
